Abubaker is in Ireland. Leaving Gaza he saw the beauty of Palestine for the first time. From the genocide, torment and terror he is now in the safety of Ireland and joins the Electronic Intifada team in this inspirational livestream.

He addressed tens of thousands at the national march for Palestine in Dublin on 17 May 2025.

I'm overwhelmed. I never imagined that I would see this in my life. To every child here, from the young to the old, for the new born babies that I've seen I want to bow for you. As you all know I've left Gaza recently after spending 560 days, leaving everything behind including my family, my home and my memories. When I came here I came with deep wounds in my heart. I couldn't imagine that I would feel normal but since I saw you and you know that I've come here to this protest, to this huge march with no family and I don't know if my family will be ok but you have come with your families. I wish I would be in your positions but I'm so happy for your presence here. You are for me, after seeing this, after being so speechless, my second family, Ireland feels like home.
